The Order Set Challenge: Health Care Organizations Working in Isolation
The successful deployment and maintenance of an order set project is a major undertaking. Order sets need to be current, reliable, comprehensive and clinically intelligent. A large number of order sets are required across many clinical areas of patient care. Hospitals typically work alone on their individual order set projects. There is no sharing of order set content or knowledge on best practices regarding how to best develop and implement order sets. This isolated approach to developing an order set project:
